president Yoon Suk-yeol held a luncheon with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte on July 11 to enhance substantive cooperation between the two countries and talk about regional situation, during his attendance at the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Summit (July 11 to 12 in Vilnius).

The two leaders expressed satisfaction with the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries in various fields such as national defense and security, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and nuclear power since Prime Minister Rutte's visit to Korea last November.

In particular, the two leaders praised the successful joint hosting of the first "High-Level Meeting on Responsible Military Use of Artificial Intelligence" by the two countries in February, and agreed to closely cooperate for the successful outcome of the second REAIM Conference, scheduled to be held in our country next year.

They also recognized the close cooperation between the two countries in the semiconductor industry and agreed that such cooperation should be further deepened and expanded to ensure the stability of the global semiconductor supply chain, pledging to strengthen communication and support at the government level.

Furthermore, the two leaders agreed to continue to actively participate in international efforts for the cessation of the war in Ukraine and the restoration of peace.

The face-to-face summit meeting between the two leaders is the third following the NATO Summit in Madrid in June last year and Prime Minister Rutte's official visit to Korea in November.

Both sides agreed to maintain close communication and further solidify the partnership between like-minded countries for the preservation of the international order.
