Shim Min, governor of Imsil-gun County, Jeollabuk-do, has stepped up as a "global ambassador" to herald his county, Jeollabuk-do and South Korea to participants in the 25th World Scout Jamboree held in Saemangeum, Imsil-gun.

Governor Shim welcomed Macedonian teenagers participating in the World Jamboree who visited Imsil-gun for the first time on Aug. 1 and served as a goodwill ambassador to promote Korea, Jeollabuk-do, and Imsil.
On this day, 30 Macedonian teenagers visited Imsil Cheese Village and held a "hoho program, rural culture experience."

Governor Shim said, "Today, we welcome Macedonian members who visited Imsil-gun, the capital of Korean cheese, for a special rural experience. The village is the root of Imsil Cheese, which was first made with two goats from Belgium in 1967, and the village community continues its precious value."

The Cheese Village Program is an activity in which foreign scout members stay in rural experience and recreation villages to experience Korean life and culture.

As the originator of Korean cheese and the capital of Korean cheese, the county introduced the charm of Imsil cheese to Jamboree teenagers who visited the cheese village and provided them with experience in making cheese and pizza.

From July 31, the previous day, those who visited Imsil-gun for rural experience had a good time to understand Korean culture in Imsil, including enjoying water play at the Aqua Festival, traditional games such as yutnori and cultivator riding.

In addition, there was a special place for exchange, such as welcoming performances by children in Imsil-gun and experiencing them with children.

Starting with the rural experience program, more than 3,000 scout members from around the world will visit Imsil-gun during the Jamboree period.

During this period, the county will support a total of 146 interpreters and 128 general volunteers to operate a regional linkage program so that the members do not have any inconvenience in working in Imsil-gun.

Governor Shim said, "This Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree is a good opportunity to promote our Imsil-gun to foreigners and tourists visiting the Jamboree Convention Center," adding, "We will promote our county's representative tourist attractions and excellent agricultural products to the world and make every effort to operate public relations centers and agricultural products."
